Yesterday was the day that Bruce Jenner made history. Caitlyn was revealed to the world in her first ever cover for Vanity Fair, shot by Annie Leibovitz.

First of all can we all just take a moment to appreciate how GOOD she looks. Makeup was done by Mark Carrasquillo, who is responsible shooting a multitude of stars such as Cindy Crawford, Karlie Kloss and Raquel Zimmerman to name but a few.. Besides looking better than I can probably hope to ever look, the story of Caitlyn's journey is emotional and deeply refreshing

"As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free."

I don't pretend to be an expert on matters like this but it seems to me that having someone who has a strong presence in the public eye as Bruce Jenner does, being known for sporting achievements and other "masculine" stereotypes transitioning publicly into a woman can make a huge dent in paving the way for this to become more accepted in society. So far, I have only heard positive responses to her story .

There are, however, lots of things flying around the internet about Caitlyn's ability to be a "pretty" woman purely because she has money and claiming that this is not economically fair nor does it set real standards for real trans women which may be so. BUT can we not just take a moment to take this for what it is...someone being brave in their true self. Caitlyn needs to be celebrated, in order to allow others to be celebrated. Things like this need to happen in "celebrity culture" in order for it to trickle down to "every day" society and happen again and so spread the message of acceptability. Surely?

Another HILARIOUS point to make is that Rob Kardashian didn't know who she was when he first saw the cover. Kim allegedly sent him the photo and he replied with "who is this woman and why do I care?" Keep up, dear.
